Welcome to the Health Service Reform Programme website
The Health Service Reform Programme, announced in June 2003, represents the most ambitious programme of change for the Irish health system in over 30 years.
It addresses a range of reforms to help modernise the health services to better meet the needs of patients. The reforms are designed to achieve a health service that provides high quality care, better value for money and improves health care management.

| 6 April 2006 | The Tánaiste and Minister for Health and Children, Mary Harney T.D. is seeking the views of the public and key stakeholders on legislative proposals to establish the Health Information and Quality Authority incorporating the Office of the Chief Inspector of Social Services on a statutory basis. Submissions should be made by Friday 26th May. |
